tough week
This week has been so tough, I really don't have many new drawings. Plus I can only upload my drawings once a week, long story but I usually don't remember to upload them anyway.
I have a life drawing class weekly on Saturdays, so last Saturday I drove there and the class was cancled...I didn't know why. I came today and I asked my teacher what happened, and he said he had a heart attack. I couldn't help it, I started crying. I've known him almost a year, and he has been the best art teacher I've ever had. He has taught me so much and makes me smile and laugh every time I go in there. It wasn't a horrible heart attack, it could have been worse. I'm just happy he's okay.
Sorry, just wanted to vent about that.
Here's some things I have done over the past few months, a watercolor, acrylic, and some digital.

:P
Haven't had much time to draw, but thought I would upload a couple pictures. I've been letting the pressure get to me. I'm having trouble drawing, I get nervous when I'm about to draw...I'm trying too hard to improve so much in so little time. CalArts is already making me nervous, and I still have time before applying. I need to calm my nerves and just focus on improving.
First few are from the zoo, people eating and such. Next are some 30 second gestures from Posemaniacs, I'm really trying to work on capturing movement, and the last is just a watercolor I made off this one picture. The face smeared, hence the :(
Hopefully I'll draw more soon.

Well hello there, my name is Kari and this...is my blog. I'll be using this to hopefully look at my improvement as I strive to be accepted into the Character Animation program at Calarts. So, here's to improvement!
If you're reading, I would highly appreciate any critiques or advice. Thanks :)
All are life drawings, except the first two. I take a life drawing class every saturday at a local college, and go to the zoo once a week. All were drawn traditionally, different pens, pencils, and I think one watercolor. Used photoshop to sharpen the images because of my poor picture taking skills.
